Remember that Win7 is still for sale and will be available to corporate clients via Dell HP et al. MSFT has a few years, judging by the WinXP to Vista transition (which became a WinXP to Win7 transition), in which those of us who don't want to use tablets and touchscreens can still do so. Meanwhile the Windows metro store should fill up with apps, and the MSFT Office branch, now that Steve Sinofsky is gone, can innovate a truly touchable Excel and Word.
Also, Mr Ballmer has an 80" touchscreen hanging on his office wall and claims he "lives on it" so much so that he bought the company whose firmware powers it. If the CEOs who can afford these things go Ballmer on them, maybe they will force their underlings to get with touch too?
